Ce "Policy Brief" explore le paysage complexe de fact-checking en France. Tout d'abord, en examinant l'écosystème de fact-checking, il offre un aperçu de son fonctionnement, prenant en compte l'évolution du paysage médiatique et les préoccupations croissantes concernant la concentration de l'industrie médiatique. Ensuite, il passe en revue la littérature existante évaluant l'efficacité fact-checking et explore un éventail de stratégies pour l'améliorer, allant de la vérification traditionnelle professionnelle aux approches automatisées émergentes et à la vérification participative. Ce "Policy brief" examine les politiques à court terme que les scientifiques sociaux ont proposées pour ralentir la circulation de la désinformation, afin de compléter de manière complémentaire les mesures déjà existantes. En premier lieu, il s'interroge sur l'efficacité de ces différentes politiques déjà en place, puis une comparaison est effectuée avant d'arriver à des conclusions et des recommandations politiques.
